The Business Standard reports that the Russia-Ukraine war has lifted maize prices by about $1 per bushel, and Bangladeshi feed producers are considering replacing maize with rice. China is also buying rice to fill its maize shortfall, and the article warns this could push up domestic rice prices.
Losing Black Sea maize supply is pushing feed makers toward rice, which tightens the rice market and could make imports more expensive for Bangladesh.
