The EIA reported the national average diesel price at $2.882 a gallon for the week of Feb. 24, a near-zero decline and the seventh straight weekly drop.
The average fell below $3 a gallon for the first time since September. WTI traded near $46.82 a barrel.
Persistently falling diesel prices lower transport and feed-delivery costs, and the sub-$3 level signals weak distillate demand.
