Statistics Canada and Canadian Oilseed Processors Association data show canola crushing at a record pace, with 3.994 million metric tons crushed through January 4, up 14.7% year on year. Canola oil exports rose 15% and meal exports rose 24.5% in the first four months of the crop year.
Strong crush and meal/oil export demand tightens canola meal supply and supports canola and meal prices, which competes with soybean meal for feed buyers.
