The India Pulses and Grains Association has asked the government to lift the export ban on pulses, imposed in 2006-07, because prices have fallen below minimum support levels. Tur and moong are trading well under their MSPs amid higher output.
Lifting the ban would open an export outlet for surplus Indian pulses, which could firm domestic prices, but the request is only a representation and has no confirmed policy change.
