The dollar rebounded in Asia as weaker-than-expected data from Tokyo and China came out ahead of the Bank of Japan review. USD/JPY was quoted near 113.15 and the dollar index near 94.48, with China's official manufacturing PMI at 51.6 versus 52 expected.
Softer Chinese manufacturing data points to slightly weaker Chinese demand for feed inputs, while the firmer dollar is a mild negative for dollar-priced commodities.
