USDA raised its estimate of US corn yield by 2.7 bushels per acre above late-September expectations, adding about 234 million bushels to the crop. Soybean yields also rose 0.3 bushels per acre above the September forecast, and corn and soybean futures fell on the larger supply.
A larger US crop from the USDA report increases global supplies and pressures corn and soybean prices, though analysts expect a rebound later on demand and logistics.
