Corn and soybean futures fell sharply on September 30 after USDA's August estimates showed record corn yield of 183.1 bushels per acre and a record 4.589 billion bushel soybean crop. December corn at $3.90 and November soybeans at $9.60 were both about 18-19% below USDA's estimated cost of production.
Large crop projections and higher ending stocks point to a lower long-term price range, lowering feed ingredient costs for buyers.
