Rapeseed on Euronext's MATIF rose to a multi-year high as soybean prices climbed. Ukraine's winter rapeseed area fell 30% to 875,000 hectares after drought, and EU and UK plantings also declined.
Ukrainian port canola prices were around $425-435/t.
Smaller Ukrainian and EU rapeseed crops reduce vegetable oilseed supply, supporting European meal and oil prices and increasing reliance on Canadian and other imports.
