A Rabo Research report says the North American Fertilizer Index has risen about 15% since April and 120% over the past year, reaching its highest level for farmers in almost a decade. A US ITC investigation into anti-dumping and countervailing duties on UAN solutions from Russia and Trinidad and Tobago could push 2022 nitrogen prices higher.
Tight potash, nitrogen and phosphate supplies and possible UAN duties point to higher fall fertilizer costs for farmers, with Rabo expecting a further 20% rise in inland potash markets before harvest ends.
