Analyst commentary on the October USDA report says corn and soybean yields were raised, along with ending stocks, and that the report was bearish for both crops. Soybean ending stocks roughly doubled to 320 million bushels, while wheat ending stocks were cut 35 million bushels to 580 million, the lowest in the series.
Bigger soybean and corn stocks reduce competition for acres next year and weigh on feed grain and meal prices. Tighter wheat supplies support wheat prices and could raise feed costs for wheat-based rations.
