Corn futures in Chicago approached a six-month high as weather threats in South America lifted prices, with the most active contract reaching $6.07 a bushel. Soybeans hit a four-month peak and wheat rose to $8.14, as La Niña-linked drought and heat were forecast to persist in southern Brazil and Argentina.
Expected South American crop losses could reduce global supplies and shift export demand to the US, supporting feed grain and protein prices.
