The Canadian Pacific Railway strike ended after two days when the company and the Teamsters agreed to binding arbitration, with service to resume at noon Tuesday. The stoppage had affected shipments of crude oil, petroleum products, agricultural goods, fertilizers and mining products.
Quick resolution limits the lasting supply-chain damage to North American fertilizer and agricultural shipments, reducing the risk of a prolonged price squeeze. Backlogs from the stoppage may still take weeks to clear.
