India's poultry sector has begun using 100% broken rice as animal feed, following China and Vietnam, while some exporters warn this could complicate sourcing of broken grain for shipments. USDA noted Indian rice quotes are static and below wheat and corn export quotes.
Diverting broken rice to feed and ethanol tightens exportable supply and could lift broken rice export prices, while cheap rice is a substitute for pricey corn and wheat in feed rations.
