FranceAgriMer reported that 92% of French soft wheat was in good or excellent condition in the week to April 11, unchanged week on week and above the 86% of a year earlier. About 8% of the grain maize area had been sown.
Strong French crop ratings reduce the risk of EU wheat supply shortfalls, which is mildly bearish for wheat prices. Maize planting is running behind last year, a small supportive factor for corn.
