An EWG analysis found farmers received about $91.6 billion from 2018 to 2020 through crop insurance, traditional subsidies and trade-war or Covid aid programs, often for the same price declines. Payments from the five programs more than doubled from 2018 to 2020.
The analysis is a policy critique with no direct supply or demand change, so it has little effect on feed grain or oilseed prices.
