Barley prices in southern Alberta and at western Canadian elevators have risen from winter lows as domestic feeding and export demand improve. Cumulative exports through Week 38 reached 1.5 million tonnes, mostly to China, and corn imports into western Canada are slowing.
Stronger export pull and tighter feed supply support Canadian barley values, while slowing US corn imports reduce competition for feed buyers in western Canada.
