European feed barley prices dropped sharply, with bagged barley falling about 16.6% to 35-36 cents per kilo by mid-December and fodder barley in France down 30 euros in January to 263 euros per tonne. The declines are attributed to competitive Russian export prices, a weak ruble and the fading of the war premium.
Cheaper Russian exports and softer European feed barley prices pressure global feed grain values and give buyers cheaper alternatives.
