USDA's Prospective Plantings report estimates US farmers will plant 95.3 million acres of corn in 2025, up 5% from 2024, and 83.5 million acres of soybeans. Corn acreage came in about 1 million acres above trade expectations, though prices reacted little.
Larger-than-expected corn acreage points to ample US supply later in the year, which is bearish for corn prices and feed costs.
