China's soybean imports rose 19% year on year in December 2022 to 10.56 million tonnes, the highest monthly level since June 2021, as buyers restocked after tight supplies. Full-year 2022 imports fell 5.6% to 91.08 million tonnes, the second annual decline.
A December rebound in Chinese buying supports soybean and soymeal demand, though weaker feed consumption and a second annual import decline cap the outlook.
