USDA reported net export sales of U.S. beef for 2026 delivery of 126,062 metric tons in the week ended June 25, a marketing-year high up nearly 500% from the prior week. The figure may include deals made months earlier, and traders said the totals looked excessive.
U.S. beef exports have fallen since 2022 due to high prices and tight herds.
The data surprise may be distorted by timing, so its price effect is uncertain, but any real export recovery would tighten domestic beef supply and support cattle prices.
