The Central Bank of Brazil cut its Selic rate by 50 basis points to a record low of 5.5% on September 18. The real sold off sharply the next day, and coffee fell about 1.5%.
A weaker real makes Brazilian exports cheaper in dollar terms, which tends to support export selling of soybeans, soymeal and other commodities. Lower Brazilian rates can also pressure the currency and push USD/BRL higher.
Setelah 301 peristiwa makro bullish sebelumnya, Real Brasil (BRL per USD) bergerak median +0,4% selama 5 sesi (57% lebih tinggi; separuh tengah -1,2% sampai +1,7%), dan +1,0% selama 20 sesi.
