The U.S. average on-highway diesel price fell 2 cents to $2.89 a gallon for the week of Feb. 17, according to the EIA.
All nine EIA regions saw declines, and diesel was 11.6 cents cheaper than a year earlier. Gasoline rose slightly nationally.
Lower diesel costs reduce transport and feed-milling expenses for buyers, while the decline reflects weaker crude and distillate demand tied to the coronavirus slowdown.
After 86 past bearish report events, DIESEL moved a median -0.9% over 5 sessions (37% higher; middle half -4.3% to +0.9%), and +0.4% over 20.
