U.S. distillate stocks, which include diesel and heating oil, fell 3.6 million barrels in the week ended October 30 to 99.3 million barrels, their lowest level since May 2003. Inventories were 13% below the five-year seasonal average as the heating season began.
Low distillate inventories leave less buffer against disruptions or increased winter demand, supporting diesel prices. Higher fuel and trucking costs can raise delivered costs for feed and other goods.
After 109 past bullish report events, ULSD / Diesel moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -3.3% to +3.9%), and +0.3% over 20.
