U.S. employers added 165,000 jobs in October, above expectations of about 65,000, while unemployment fell to 4.1% and monthly wages rose 0.4%. The data lifted market-implied odds of a December Fed rate hike to 77–79%, and the dollar rose to about R$5.51, its highest close since December 2025.
Stronger U.S. employment and wage growth can sustain higher U.S. interest rates, supporting the dollar and putting pressure on the Brazilian real. That raises the BRL cost of dollar-denominated feed and agricultural imports into Brazil.
After 40 past report events, Brazilian Real (BRL per USD) moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.3%), and -0.2% over 20.
