Indian oil marketing companies received ethanol offers totaling about 1,934.5 crore litres for the 2026-27 supply year, against a tender of 1,100 crore litres. Maize accounts for 1,140.4 crore litres of proposed supply, with FCI rice and damaged foodgrains also contributing; sugarcane-based ethanol is restricted to the C-heavy molasses route for the year.
The large maize-based ethanol offer points to substantial potential demand for corn, competing with feed and other uses. The offers exceed the tender quantity, but bids are not the same as finalized purchases or production.
After 318 past bullish policy events, Corn moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.5%), and -0.2% over 20.
After 168 past bullish policy events, Rough Rice moved a median +0.8% over 5 sessions (57% higher; middle half -1.7% to +2.1%), and -0.4% over 20.
