QatarEnergy is in advanced talks to buy up to 2 million tonnes per year of LNG from NextDecade’s planned Rio Grande LNG Train 6 in Texas. The train remains in permitting, and a final investment decision is targeted around 2027.
If completed, the deal would secure future US LNG supply for QatarEnergy and support additional export capacity, but it is not an immediate change in available supply.
