The FAO Cereal Price Index fell 4.5% in October 2026 from September, as global wheat prices declined for the first time in five months and corn prices also fell. Weaker import demand, improved crop prospects, new US-crop supplies and expectations of easing Black Sea export restrictions weighed on grain prices; barley and sorghum prices also declined.
The combination of better expected supply and weaker demand points to lower prices for feed grains. Continued transport disruptions and uncertainty around Black Sea shipments may limit the downside.
