Polish wet corn prices fell by about PLN 47/t over the week and dry corn by about PLN 15/t, with some buyers cutting bids by as much as PLN 100/t. Gas supply problems have caused some dryers and collection points to operate intermittently or suspend intake; participants also cited higher drying costs, lower port grain prices and transport shortages.
Heavy harvest supply and weaker port bids are pressuring corn prices, while fuel and transport constraints are restricting the movement and drying of grain. This combination raises farmers’ selling costs and keeps local corn bids under pressure.
