Global skimmed milk powder prices rose 3.1% at the November 3 Global Dairy Trade auction to $4,109 per tonne, their highest level since June 2022, as demand for dairy ingredients strengthened, particularly among Asian buyers. The overall GDT index rose 3% for a third consecutive gain, while butter and anhydrous milk fat prices declined; EU skimmed milk powder prices were also substantially higher than a year earlier.
Stronger Asian buying is supporting dairy-protein prices, while the declines in dairy fats show that demand and price strength are not uniform across products. The report does not establish a direct price implication for the listed feed or livestock commodities.
After 112 past trade events, Milk (Class III) moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -2.3% to +2.3%), and -0.2% over 20.
