The European Fat Processors and Renderers Association called for changes to EU rules on processed animal proteins, saying current restrictions limit the use of animal by-product meals in feed, including aquafeed. It says Europe imports more than 13 million tonnes of soy protein annually while producing over three million tonnes of feed-grade protein meals from animal by-products.
If restrictions are eased, greater use of European animal proteins could substitute for imported soy-based feed protein, potentially weighing on soybean meal demand while supporting demand for processed animal proteins.
After 223 past bearish policy events, Soybean Meal moved a median -0.3% over 5 sessions (45% higher; middle half -2.2% to +1.2%), and -0.6% over 20.
