Indonesia's Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman is setting up a system linking corn farmers, livestock breeders, cooperatives and Perum Bulog. Bulog would buy surplus farmer corn, store it under warehouse receipts, and release it to breeders during the tight supply period from September to November.
The minister described it as a permanent ecosystem starting from upstream production to downstream use.
A state buffer stock for corn would support farm-gate prices at harvest and smooth feed supply in the lean season, reducing price spikes for poultry and livestock feed buyers. The effect on prices is likely modest because the scheme is still being set up.
After 318 past bullish policy events, Corn moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.5%), and -0.2% over 20.
