Russian grain shipments through the Black Sea and Sea of Azov fell to 0.3 million tons in September from 4.74 million a year earlier, based on Reuters-reported export data. Attacks on merchant vessels in the region rose sharply, and Ukraine's port grain exports also fell as it rerouted via Danube ports.
Sharply lower Black Sea shipments tighten export availability, but Chicago wheat has still fallen about 22% since late August, so the market is currently pricing in other supply factors.
After 163 past neutral logistics events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (53% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.1%), and -0.3% over 20.
