The Jeonnam-Gwangju agricultural technology institute signed an agreement with the Korean Hanwoo Association's Gwangju-Jeonnam branch to expand field distribution of 'Dangchan', a new feed wheat variety. The partnership covers planting, harvest and feeding trials for Hanwoo cattle, plus training and joint research.
The aim is to raise local forage self-sufficiency and cut beef farmers' production costs.
Dangchan is a small domestic forage crop, so the effect on global feed prices is negligible. It only modestly supports local forage supply for Korean cattle farms, which are under pressure from rising feed costs.
After 137 past neutral policy events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median -0.4% over 5 sessions (43% higher; middle half -1.9% to +1.2%), and +0.3% over 20.
