Exports of soybean grain, meal and oil from the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás to the EU reached US$3.13 billion from January to September, up 28.2% year on year, and accounted for 47.8% of Brazil's soy-complex sales to the bloc. Brazilian soy industry groups and the agriculture ministry are lobbying in Europe to keep the EUDR from becoming a barrier to Brazilian soy, with the main obligations starting 30 December.
Brazil's soy supply to the EU is concentrated in the Centre-West, so any EUDR-driven traceability burden could divert or delay meal and oil flows. Until the rules bite, the impact on soybean and soybean meal prices is limited.
