Pakistan's Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain told a parliamentary committee the government is considering subsidies of Rs3,000 and Rs5,000 per bag of fertiliser. Punjab is weighing Rs3,000 per bag, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided on an in-kind subsidy of Rs5,000 per bag.
The committee also noted a recent import of 50,000 tons of DAP for the Rabi 2026-27 season.
Subsidies and lower import duties could raise fertiliser application and support wheat and rice plantings, but a fertiliser-driven price shift for feed grains is limited. Pakistan's import needs for DAP and urea remain a modest factor in global phosphate and nitrogen demand.
After 29 past neutral policy events, DAP moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (55% higher; middle half -0.4% to +1.3%), and +1.9% over 20.
