South Africa's Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources announced November fuel price changes effective 4 November. Petrol 93 and 95 fall by 1 cent per litre, while diesel 0.05% and 0.005% fall by 110 and 120 cents per litre.
The reductions follow a fuel levy relief announced by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana in the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement.
Without the levy relief, higher international product prices and a weaker rand would have pushed South African pump prices up; diesel relief matters most for road freight, which carries about 80% of goods. Fuel-cost relief eases transport inflation pressure on feed logistics but does not change global grain or oilseed supply.
After 21 past bearish policy events, ULSD / Diesel moved a median -2.4% over 5 sessions (38% higher; middle half -6.5% to +4.7%), and -1.1% over 20.
