A Reuters poll of FX strategists taken October 30 to November 3 shows forecasters expect the US dollar to weaken in coming months, with the euro seen at $1.13 in three months and $1.16 in a year. About 60% of respondents to an extra question said the dollar was more likely to exceed their three-month forecasts than fall short, citing strong US growth and sticky inflation.
A firmer dollar tends to weigh on US commodity prices and make US feed ingredients pricier for importers, while a weaker dollar supports export demand and dollar-denominated commodity prices. Rate futures pricing further Fed hikes adds to the dollar-strength risk.
