The Indian Rice Exporters' Federation said international 100% broken rice prices have crossed $360 per tonne. Domestic wholesale broken rice rose about 5.3% between 10 October and 2 November, and the federation warned of possible government intervention.
Possible new Indian export curbs would remove supply from the world market and push up feed and ethanol-linked broken rice prices. Ethanol and poultry demand are also adding pressure.
After 168 past bullish policy events, Rough Rice moved a median +0.8% over 5 sessions (57% higher; middle half -1.7% to +2.1%), and -0.4% over 20.
