Morocco is set to receive two Russian sulphur cargoes at Jorf Lasfar port to replace reduced supplies from the UAE, a major supplier to OCP. Kpler data show the cargoes were loaded in October and are due before month-end, while Russian sulphur exports recovered to 115,000 tonnes in September.
Global sulphur prices have reportedly risen about 75%.
Sulphur is a key input for phosphoric acid and phosphate fertilisers, so tight supply and a steep price rise raise phosphate production costs and support DAP and TSP prices.
