Indonesian palm oil exports (CPO, PKO and derivatives) hit a 2018 high of 2.99 million tonnes in August, though January-August volumes were down 2% year on year. The Indonesian Palm Oil Association said strong global demand did not lift prices, as cheap CPO encouraged buyers to stock up.
Strong export demand is being offset by low prices and buyer stockpiling, so the trade flow is not providing price support.
After 67 past neutral trade events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.1% to +1.3%), and +0.6% over 20.
