Egypt's yellow corn imports reached about 493,900 tonnes in the first half of October 2026, down 41.4% from the same period in 2025. Year-to-date imports through September rose 6.5% to about 8.82 million tonnes, with Brazil supplying most volume.
A sharp October drop in Egyptian imports reduces near-term demand from a major importer, mainly for Brazilian corn. Rising world prices are also limiting purchases, which is mildly bearish for Brazilian corn export prices.
After 683 past bearish trade events, CORN moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -1.7% to +1.6%), and +0.3% over 20.
