Indonesia exported 19 million metric tons of crude and refined palm oil from January to September, up 8.1% year on year. The shipments were valued at US$21.07 billion, up 16.14%, which the statistics bureau attributed to higher prices.
September exports alone were 2.87 million tons worth US$3.31 billion.
Strong export volumes draw down Indonesian supply and support demand for palm oil in import markets. The higher value reflects firmer prices, though the bureau's data excludes some products, so it is only a partial view.
