Indonesian suppliers have deferred at least 310,000 tonnes of palm oil shipments from November to December, betting on a cut in the December export tax. The shipments are about 12% of typical monthly exports.
Sources said the deferral will boost domestic stocks and lift December exports, which normally decline.
A larger-than-usual December export flow could support benchmark palm oil prices after they hit a four-month low on rising Malaysian output. The timing shift also changes monthly export patterns.
After 133 past bullish trade events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.7% over 5 sessions (64% higher; middle half -0.8% to +2.3%), and +1.7% over 20.
