Dow AgroSciences announced a new class of canola that yields a more nutritionally superior canola meal with higher protein and phosphorus, lower fibre, and the same oil content. The company said the meal can be used at much higher inclusion rates in monogastric rations and is aimed at replacing soybean meal.
If adopted, higher-quality canola meal could substitute for imported soybean meal in Canadian feed, adding supply competition for SBM and supporting canola meal demand at the expense of soy-based inputs.
After 384 past bearish trade events, Soybean Meal moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -1.7% to +1.6%), and -0.5% over 20.
