India's DGFT issued Notification No. 03/2015-2020 on 19 April 2017 exempting organic wheat, non-Basmati rice, edible oils and sugar from export quantitative ceilings and bans. It also raised the organic pulses and lentils export ceiling to 50,000 MT per year, with contracts registered with APEDA before shipment.
The change applies only to certified organic volumes, which are small relative to world grain trade, so price impact is limited. It is a minor liberalisation that should not shift feed grain prices.
After 206 past neutral trade events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (53% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.6%), and +0.5% over 20.
After 70 past neutral trade events, Rough Rice moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.9%), and +1.3% over 20.
Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
