Richardson International, a Canadian grain handler, said it bought European Oat Millers, Europe's second-largest oat miller, with the deal closing June 15. Terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands processing capacity and may increase demand for oats from Canadian and other suppliers, but it does not change near-term supply or prices.
After 15 past neutral trade events, Oats moved a median -0.8% over 5 sessions (27% higher; middle half -2.4% to +2.2%), and +2.7% over 20.
