Sorghum traded just below $300/t delivered Darling Downs as unseasonably warm, dry weather raised concerns about feedgrain supplies through November. The ABARES national domestic sorghum indicator rose 7% to $304/t in the week ending 19 July, its first move above $300/t since September 2015.
Dry conditions and tight old-crop supply are lifting domestic sorghum values and pricing exports out of the market, which supports feed grain costs for buyers. Rain forecasts are the main factor that could cap further gains.
