U.S. ethanol production fell below one million barrels per day for the first time since mid-June, averaging 996,000 barrels daily in the latest EIA week. Ethanol stocks dropped to their lowest since early January at 20.74 million barrels.
The USDA's next supply and demand report is due October 12.
Lower ethanol output means less corn use and fewer DDGS, adding to corn stocks, though tighter ethanol inventories partly offset that. Plant profitability concerns and the RFS debate add uncertainty.
After 1,102 past bearish report events, Corn moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -1.8% to +1.3%), and +0.0% over 20.
