India's central cabinet has lifted the ban on exports of all types of pulses, after earlier allowing exports of tur, urad and moong dal in September. The Committee of Secretaries on pulses was also empowered to review export and import policy, including quantitative restrictions and import duties.
Allowing exports gives Indian pulse farmers an outlet for surplus crop, which can support domestic prices and trade flows. Pulses are not in the tracked symbol list, so the direct effect on tracked feed commodities is limited.
