Grain inspectors and crushers at Argentina's Rosario port, which handles about 80% of the country's agricultural exports, began a 48-hour strike. The action followed an explosion that killed a worker and raised safety concerns.
The strike covers the Timbues, San Lorenzo and General San Martin facilities.
Rosario is the main export outlet for Argentine soymeal, soyoil and corn, so a halt in loadings tightens near-term export supply and can lift soybean complex prices.
